What can be repaired?
Seven Locks Housing is responsible for all repairs to the structure of your home and for all fixtures and fittings supplied by us. Customers are responsible for internal redecorations and some other minor repairs.
The list of repairs for which Seven Locks Housing is responsible is extensive therefore if you are ever unsure as to whose responsibility a defect is, please contact us directly.
Below are some examples of common repairs/defects that Seven Locks Housing is responsible for:
- Boilers
- Bathroom fittings including WC cisterns
- Communal TV aerials to flats
- Doors to communal areas
- Door locks - except for where the tenant has lost their keys
- Door entry systems
- Guttering
- External painting
- Public paths
- Smoke detectors
Common examples of repairs/defects that Seven Locks Housing is not responsible for:
- Internal decoration
- Fences – except for where they are on boundaries with public footpaths, roads or to denote boundaries with private properties where they are the responsibility of Seven Locks Housing
- Fuses to plugs
- Glazing – unless a Police Incident Crime reference number is provided
- Replacement keys – unless the tenant is a pensioner
- Light bulbs
- TV aerials – except for communal aerials
- WC seats – unless the tenant is a pensioner
