In addition to the day to day repairs we do, Seven Locks Housing also has in place a programme of major works and improvement to our properties. These programmes of works are in place to ensure that our properties have modern facilities, fixtures and fittings in line with Government guidelines under the Decent Homes standards.
Working inline with the Decent Homes guidelines, Seven Locks Housing considers not just the age and condition of each individual property when deciding what work will be done and when. By considering wider factors, such as tenant aspirations, Seven Locks Housing aims to exceed the minimum requirements of the Decent Home standards wherever is possible and where we have sufficient finances available to do so.

Current improvement and modernisation programme
By the year 2013 we will have completed the following major investment programmes;
- Modernising kitchens in around 1600 homes
- Modernising bathrooms in around 1300 homes
- Replacement of external doors in around 1300 homes
- Installing or upgrading heating systems in around 900 homes
This current improvement and modernisation programme is focussed on improving/modernising these specific areas in your home.
Seven Locks Housing is working in partnership with two contractors to carry out these improvement works - the Connaught Partnership and the Lovells Partnership. Before any work will begin at your property you will be visited by a surveyor from the appropriate contractor for your area, who will carry out a survey on your home and assess your need for a new kitchen or bathroom etc.
Following on from this survey the works at your property will be scheduled for completion by the contractor and you will be notified in writing of the expected date that work will commence.
Please be aware that not all Seven Locks Housing properties will be eligible for work under this programme and/or you may only be eligible for some of the works and not all of them.
Future improvement and modernisation programmes
Alongside the current Improvement and Modernisation programme we will also be carrying out ongoing improvement projects to your homes such as – providing and upgrading digital TV aerials, environmental improvements and cavity wall insulation.
